The New Kitten by Joyce Carol Oates and David Mottram.
Well here’s one for the cat lovers (which includes me by the way)!
The story follows Cherie the family cat, who gets a shock one day when she is presented with a new kitten into the house. You can predict the jealousy and bad feeling that results from this and there are the obvious parallels for any child that has to adapt to a new sibling coming along.
The illustrations are drawn with a rough chalky texture and are very cute. They perfectly capture the kittens huge big eyes.
The story is fine if slightly predictable and a little too wordy in places, but who cares when your just looking at the cute kitten pictures!
