Book Review – The Moonlight Zoo

The Moonlight Zoo by Maudie Powell-Tuck and Karl James Mountford.

In many ways this a simple story of a girl, Eva,  looking for her lost cat who finds a magical world under her bed, however it has been so beautifully realised that it is elevated above many other books I have seen.

The illustrations are really lovely and draw from a limited but engaging colour palette. All of the animals and details are expertly realised in a very accomplished style. But that is not all. There are cutaway sections too that show a glimpse of the following page. What more could you ask for!

What can I say. It’s a perfect bedtime read with lots of animals in it and one I defiantly recommend you take a look at.
