Book review – Gaspard ‘Best in Show’

Gaspard ‘Best in Show’ by Zeb Soanes and James Mayhew.

Gaspard is back! If you enjoyed the first book which introduces us to Gaspard the fox and friends, then you will love this too.

Gaspard would like Peter the cat to meet his other friend Flinty the dog and so they set off, ending up at a best dressed dog show. Naturally enough Gaspard ends up getting involved.

Freed from needing to establish the characters, this book sets a better pace than the slightly overlong first story and much joy stems from the familiarity of Gaspard and his friends.

The illustrations are again as lovely as the original with their classic style and loveable animals.

Overall a brilliant and worthy sequel!
