Book review – Wild

Wild by Emily Hughes.

This is brilliant. The striking cover alone of this book is enough to grab your attention!

In short, it’s about a feral child, brought up by animals in the wild, who gets taken back to civilisation and expected to readjust.

Part Jungle book, part social experiment, it succeeds in tapping into the free spirit in all of us.

The illustrations are simply beautiful and all the animals who take the girl into their care are vividly brought to life. It’s a lovely view and depiction of nature.

Here’s another for you. A similarly interesting book of this nature (because it was based on a true story) is Jemmy Button which I have reviewed here. Check them both out!
